Conveyor Group wins Two Web Awards

News | January 11, 2017

Conveyor Group is pleased to announce that the agency has won two Silver Awards for its work on the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival (TVBWF) Website. One Silver was awarded at the International Festivals & Event Association’s (IFEA) 61st Annual Convention and another by The Davey Awards.

TVBWF is now preparing for its 34th annual festival in the Spring of 2017. The two-and-a-half day event brings tens of thousands of people from around the country to Temecula’s wine country where they enjoy top-name musical entertainment, wine and craft beer tasting, hot air balloons and a variety of family activities. Each year, over 800 volunteers come together to bring the festival to life.

The new website, launched in February of this year, is the fourth iteration of the TVBWF website Conveyor Group has designed and programmed. This site features the ability to responsively resize for optimal viewing on desktop computers, tablets and mobile devices, a custom content management system (CMS) for quick updates and an attractive interface design.

The completely custom solution was entirely hand-coded and designed in Conveyor Group’s Imperial-based studio to uniquely match the personality and specific needs of the client. The contemporary design simplifies access to event details, provides better exposure to sponsors and captures the excitement of the event. It was built to adapt to heavy traffic loads and has alternate landing pages during special periods, such as during camping reservations and the actual days of the event, where already heavy traffic loads often increase tenfold.

Conveyor Group has worked with TVBWF for the past 19 years on a variety of projects including the website, official event program, advertising and promotions, collectible souvenirs, social media, major anniversary branding and a variety of other support materials.

“We’re very happy with the international recognition on this website,” said Aaron F. Popejoy, creative director/operations manager at Conveyor Group. “Our team put a great deal of time and effort into the site to ensure it is attractive, fun and most importantly functional. This is a spectacular event with a passionate following and we feel the website is a good representation of both."

“The evolution of the TVBWF website has always been a driver for our own innovation, from interactivity, to e-commerce, to technical compatibility and even for managing extreme traffic loads,” added Popejoy. "We learn so much from the process and it carries over to everything else we do for our clients."

“We’ve had a great partnership with Conveyor Group and rely on them to help us stay ahead of the curve with regards to our website,” said Andrea Jacobson, executive director for TVBWF. “We are very happy with the results and proud to have another award-winning site that really meets our needs and those of our festival patrons.”

Previous iterations of the TVBWF website have been recognized by IFEA. This is the first Davey win for the agency.
