Imperial Valley Food Bank Hosts 3rd Annual Harvest Bowl

Conveyor Group is proud to once again support the Imperial Valley Food Bank's annual Harvest Bowl fundraising event.
The Harvest Bowl, a benefit dinner to raise funds for the Food Bank has been held since 2011. The night is an evening affair, bringing the community together to benefit those in need. According the Imperial Valley Food Bank the food insecurity rate in the Valley is nearly 28 percent and childhood food insecurity rate is nearly 44 percent. The County is one of the highest in the state and country. The Food Bank itself serves nearly 20,000 Imperial County residents each month.
The night's events included a quality five-course dinner prepared by local culinary students, as well as informational presentations throughout the night sharing details on Food Bank services and needs. Conveyor Group has been a sponsor since it's inception and Nellie Popejoy, business director has served on the event committee in the past. The team provide design services for the event including sponsorship recognition signage, evening programs, ticket design and presentation design and development.
"The event is always a great one," said Melissa M. Lopez, production director for Conveyor Group. "We enjoy participating every year. The organization is great to work with and we feel it's really important to support such a worthy cause. Before I started working with the Food Bank I had no idea how much need their truly was in the Valley, it's quite eye-opening."
The Imperial Valley Food Bank turned a cooling shed into a beautiful elegant community setting. With sponsors, donors and community members all sitting together and enjoying a meal, while raising much needed funds. Various fundraisers were held that night to raise to increase donations including a wine raffle. The amount raised at the event is estimated to provide over 300,000 meals.
"This was my first time attending the event," said Diana Moreno-Inman, client services director for Conveyor Group. "It is really amazing what the organization is able to put together and what a wonderful cause, our county needs this support and we are glad to provide it."
